Director · Directorate of Research

Welcome to the Directorate of Research at SKUAST-Kashmir. Research lies at the heart of our university's mission — turning scientific inquiry into practical solutions for the farmers, foresters, and communities of Jammu & Kashmir. This Directorate coordinates that effort across every faculty and research station, from AICRP-coordinated national projects to externally funded work with ICAR, DBT, and DST, ensuring our scientists have the infrastructure, funding pathways, and institutional support to pursue meaningful, high-impact research. Our growing network of research stations, advanced laboratories, and instrumentation facilities reflects a simple belief: good research needs good infrastructure. Equally, our expanding portfolio of patents, publications, and technologies reflects the dedication of our faculty and research scholars, whose work continues to strengthen agriculture, horticulture, veterinary science, and allied fields across the Himalayan region. I invite students, scientists, and collaborating institutions to explore the ongoing projects, resources, and opportunities within this Directorate, and to join us in advancing science that serves both scholarship and society.
